It is interesting about w...Thank you for your post. It is interesting about what you said, in that the artistic depiction of witches often tends to be negative. I would most likely assert that is the cause due in part lack of modern understanding on one hand and the supplanting of traditional beliefs on the other. When we look at history it can be shown that throughout the past generations all the way up through today, within each culture there is some sort of veneration of the female to varying degrees. The Virgin Mary narrative is so to speak a continuation of this tradition. Although as with many aspects this modern day narrative I would claim is a corrupt, distorted, or misrepresentation of deeper rooted traditional belief that is common throughout many different cultures the world over.
