Tumzantorum - Volume 1 Number 1

It is clear that when we look at the assortment of publications available today, many are designed to cater to the dilettante, the New Age seeker and the coffee table reader. This highlights the need for independent publications of a more serious and studious nature. Publications designed to offset the more popular element of the market and supply much needed material, to those who wish to delve deeper.

At the end of May 2021 a new Occult publication became available to the public. It is a project of love for the editor and publisher, Sean Woodward. It is a fine achievement, of which he can be justly proud. As a new publication birthed at a time of great trial, we can see that the publication is itself a challenge to our troubled society. Tumzantorum is joining those select few publications, that remain available for the more serious student of the Occult Artes.

Tumzantorum takes its name from an intelligence that the editor describes as a Djinn. A Spirit of the wind bringing forth knowledge and enlightenment to mankind. As a spirit of wind, I hope that Tumzantorum will blow away the cobwebs of enforced inactivity and open up new paths for us all.

Tumzantorum - Volume 1 Number 1, has over a dozen contributors. The subjects covered are of great range and depth. I have the privilege of being amongst that select band. My own contribution is the third time that I have explored, the historical and practical application of the curse. In 'Making of a Hexaglas or Witchjar' I look at the methodology, producing a contemporary recipe based on historical precedence.

Like the other papers in Tumzantorum - Volume 1 Number 1, it is by its intrinsic nature; the kind of work rarely found in the majority of popular magazines. This anthology will not have mass appeal but will as I suggest above, cater for a different market. I therefore wish the editor Sean Woodward all success with this project and I eagerly await news of the second issue.
